Under 14–17 – Stage 3 One-Day Format (MCA T25) This format is for players whose skills are ready for full-size cricket. It’s aligned to senior cricket with 11-a-side squads and full pitch length. Game Type 25-over one-day match Indicative age: U13–U16 Ball Girls: 142 g leather, 2-piece (Platypus Gem or Kookaburra Red King) Boys: 156 g leather, 2-piece Kookaburra Red King Match Time Total: 3 hours (180 mins) 1st Innings: 8:00 am – 9:45 am Innings Break 2nd Innings: 10:00 am – 11:45 am (cut-off) Pitch & Boundary Pitch: 20.1 m (full length) on turf or hard wicket Boundary: up to 50 m, measured from the centre of the pitch Team & Players 9 players on the field per team Min players: 7 to start a match Max squad: 11 players, but only 9 on the field at once Innings ends at the fall of the 8th wicket or after 25 overs Batting No compulsory retirement. Coach-managed retirement at 40 balls faced (optional). Retired batters may return once all other batters have batted, in order of retirement. All deliveries (incl. wides & no-balls) count toward the batter’s ball-faced tally. If more than 9 players in the squad, players who don’t bowl must bat. Innings closes after 8 wickets or the completion of 25 overs. Free hit for all no-balls. Bowling 6-ball overs (maximum of 8 balls per over, except the final over which must contain 6 legal deliveries). At least 6 different players must bowl. If more than 9 players in the squad, maximum of 9 bowlers. Maximum 5 overs per bowler. A ball is a no-ball if: it bounces more than twice before the popping crease it is a full toss above waist height Fielding Rotate fielders so everyone experiences different positions. No fielders within 10 m of the bat (except slips, gully and keeper). No more than 4 fielders outside the fielding circle at any time. Dismissals All normal dismissals apply except Mankad.
