Porters Mitre 10 Under 20 T20 Smash | 23–25 January
The CiteCon Kingfishers return with confidence, class and a point to prove after being crowned the inaugural winners of the Porters Mitre 10 U19 T100 Smash in 2024/25. Now, with the evolution of the competition into the Under 20 T20 Smash, the Kingfishers are expanding their footprint — welcoming exciting young talent from across Mackay and Central Queensland.
💪 Strong Core Retained
Continuity was key, with the Kingfishers retaining:
• Liam Newbery
• Cameron Tomerini
• Jack Law
The addition of Jack Law from the Gibbs Air & Refrigeration Crocs last season proved a masterful stroke of genius, adding polish and match awareness to an already dangerous lineup.
⭐ First Draft Pick
One of the most exciting inclusions is the Kingfisher's first draft pick in Henry Lau from the Gracemere Bulls. A highly-rated young cricketer from Rockhampton Grammar School, Henry consistently ranks among Rockhampton’s leading junior players and has led the run-scoring charts across multiple divisions.
🧠 Coach
The squad will again be guided by Chris Nemitz, Magpies Junior Cricket Coach and Mackay Whitsunday U20s Development Coach, who is passionate about developing and supporting the next generation of elite cricketers.
